In June, the City of Châteauguay renewed the contract of City Manager Karl Sacha Langlois for 10 years.

Langlois has been leading Châteauguay’s administration since 2021. His contract initially set to end in 2025, the city council opted for a long-term commitment with him to implement the first strategic development plan adopted in March and to continue the economic development in the industrial park and commercial areas.

« Ensuring both organizational stability and strong leadership to achieve our objectives is essential, » says Stacy Maignan, Chief of Communications and Support to the Elected Officials of Châteauguay. « Since his arrival in 2021, Mr. Langlois has quickly consolidated the management team, established clear governance rules, and fostered a culture of performance and accountability, which is now proving its worth, » she adds.

The Municipality mentions that the City Manager has « seized several business opportunities to boost the development of our commercial areas and industrial park. »

$250,000 Salary

Mr. Langlois’s annual remuneration has been adjusted to $250,000 « to reflect market standards for similar roles and will be subject to the conditions applicable to all other executives for the duration of his contract, » the City specifies. When he was hired in 2021, his salary had been set at $185,000.
