Over 1,000 unionized employees from the Grandes-Seigneuries School Service Center and the New Frontiers School Board marched through the streets of Châteauguay on December 11th, as part of a demonstration during the public education network’s strike days.
The protesters gathered at lunchtime in the parking lot behind the Civic Agora on Maple Boulevard in Châteauguay. They then took D’Anjou Boulevard, crossed the Arthur-Laberge Bridge in light rain, and made their way to Marguerite-Bourgeois High School on Principale Street. They retraced their steps later in the afternoon.

All individuals interviewed by the Soleil de Châteauguay expressed a desire for the labor dispute to be resolved before the Holidays but had little hope that it would happen.
