The Châteauguay Municipal Court will be relocating

In order to save on rental costs, the City of Châteauguay will be moving its Municipal Court to a building it owns on Main Street this Fall. Municipal council sessions will also be held at this location once the room is ready.

The Municipal Court is currently situated in a rented space at 265 D’Anjou Boulevard, where the City states that the rent costs are becoming increasingly expensive. « We estimate the costs associated with leasing the premises on D’Anjou Boulevard to be around $15,000 per month, including direct expenses (rent, taxes) and indirect expenses (internet connection, maintenance, etc.), » says Eric Laparé, communication advisor for the City.

The City is currently carrying out renovations at 71 Main Street to prepare the premises. “The room was supposed to be ready for August, we’re already in August… soon, but the takeover has been postponed to this Fall as the Municipal Council needs to go through a bidding process for the building’s air conditioning”, according to Mr. Laparé.

The Châteauguay Municipal Court serves the territories of Châteauguay, Léry, Beauharnois, and Saint-Isidore.
